Staff – Management structure

  • Dena Leek – Director, registered provider with overall responsibility of the nursery (designated safeguarding officer)
  • Sadie Taylor – Director (designated safeguarding officer)

Dena has a level 4 childcare qualification and had worked as a Day Nursery Manager before opening Puddleducks in 1995. Dena works closely with the management team, to ensure Puddleducks provides high quality childcare and education for the children in our care.

Sadie is a qualified teacher and delivers training to support staff with observations, assessments, planning and the curriculum. Learning Journals/stories are audited by Sadie as well as the managers. Recruitment, appraisals and supervisions, are also completed by Sadie.

Our qualifications and training

Our nursery has a clear commitment to protect children and therefore, has a stringent recruitment policy and procedure in place. All members of staff either hold an appropriate early years qualification at level 2 and above and/or have early years experience. They will have completed a thorough recruitment and induction process and are regularly monitored and supported to ensure they remain suitable to work with children.

We adhere to the adult/child ratios as stated within the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, these are:

  • 1 adult to 3 children aged under two years
  • 1 adult to 4 children aged two to three years
  • 1 adult to 8 children aged three and over
