We have had such a great time over the last couple of weeks exploring our new mud kitchen area. We have a larger mixing area with various items, herbs, spoons, as well as our own ‘wellie boot’ stand where we can help ourselves to wellies to wear. If you have any wellie boots at home you no longer need we would be very grateful for them.
We will be extending our love for the garden with a garden fun week from 16 April. We will be planting vegetables in our gardening area as well as planting flowers from the market in our fairy garden.

Room Highlights
We
Tiggys
Over the last month we have enjoyed looking at our families and have created a family tree, hand painting window display. We have also looked at our homes and built our own houses too. Our plans for April is to move forward with our family and friends theme. We will create a friendship tree and look at how we treat and play with our friends. We will encourage and plan lots of group activities and games which will help us to use our sharing skills and playing nicely together.
Using skin tone coloured paint we will paint our hands and portraits to add to our tree display. We would be grateful for any home and family photos to add to our growing tree display.
Ducklings and Twitchits
In Duckling and Twitchits we have enjoyed following a sport theme with lots of physical play. We explored the tent and tunnels with the ball pool and each child made a medal to take home with something great they have been doing. We have also loved exploring messy play using our whole body where we had a large sheet of paper, messy suits and lots of coloured paint to explore.
Over the next month we will be exploring our nursery rhymes and using our favourite rhymes to make props to use while we are singing during our rhyme time.
Nutkin’s
We have had a busy month in Nutkin’s where we have looked at the topic; numbers. We did lots of counting and sorting activities to practice our number’s. For easter we used potato mashers to print eggs and made bunny pictures as well as having an egg hunt in the garden. We have also had great fun baking lots of yummy treats for our Easter Tea party, we did super rolling with our biscuit dough.
Next month we are going to be looking at the farm and spring as our themes. Where we will be looking at baby animals, farm stories and exploring farm tuff spots. If there are any particular interests your child has at home please do let us know.
Preschool
Preschool have enjoyed taking part in spring and Easter activities over the last few weeks. We have enjoyed going on an Easter egg hunt, looking at daffodils and painting what we see. We have also enjoyed making flower sun catchers. The children have also enjoyed growing ‘spiky grass’ and ‘sweat peas’. Preschool have also enjoyed sending an Easter hamper to the residents at Burleigh House, This was filled with Easter treats and an Easter card for each resident. Preschool have been fascinated by our new ‘bug hotel’ in the garden which has now lead us on to our next topic of minibeasts. We will be making wormeries, looking at the symmetry of a ladybirds and exploring incy wincy spider too.
